AmeriCorps VISTA
Positions Open at IFM !

We have TWO AmeriCorps VISTA positions open that we are currently accepting applications for...

Operations and Admin Project Coordinator

Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator

What is AmeriCorps VISTA?

VISTA - Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) members, ages 18 and older, perform capacity building activities, over a course of a year, through private non-profit organizations and public agencies.  VISTA members address issues related to poverty, such as public health, education, the environment, public safety, and employment, by developing and mobilizing resources that create long-term sustainable benefits at a community level.

Interfaith Food Ministry will be hosting TWO VISTA members for a term of service starting on 4/6/2026 and ending on 4/5/2027.

VISTA members serve for 40 hours per week for those 12 months. Most hours will be completed in person on-site at our facility in Grass Valley, CA, and some hours will be completed remotely. Most activities at IFM take place Mondays-Saturdays, with a limited number of activities taking place on Sundays.

We are accepting applications until 3/6/2026.
However, we will be reviewing applications and scheduling interviews on a rolling basis and so getting your application in sooner rather than later is a good idea!

Interviews will take place until 3/11/2026 with final selection decisions occurring by 3/12/2026.

If selected, your term of service will start on Monday, 4/6/2026 and last until Monday, 4/5/2027 (i.e. 12 months).

Benefits of Service

VISTA members earn a Living Allowance paycheck from AmeriCorps of $957.46 every two weeks during service, and then can choose between an Education Award of $7,395 OR a cash stipend of $1,800 upon successful completion of their term of service.

IFM has chosen to supplement with two additional benefits:
-A housing stipend of $200 per month (paid directly to the VISTA member's landlord / property management).
-A cell phone reimbursement of $50 per month.

VISTA members are also eligible for additional benefits through AmeriCorps related to child care, healthcare, leave, and professional development opportunities.

It would also be a good idea to contact us after you've submitted your application through the AmeriCorps system just to make sure we received it on our end.
