HELP NEEDED!
We have two types of volunteer jobs:
1. Kitchen Team: You have COOKING experience and are willing to work with a team of volunteers to prepare the meals.
2. Serving Team: You have experience SERVING FOOD and/or HOSTING EVENTS and are willing to work with a team of volunteers.
2. Serving Team: You have experience SERVING FOOD and/or HOSTING EVENTS and are willing to work with a team of volunteers.
More details about each category:
1. Kitchen Team: Each kitchen team will have a captain/lead chef (or possibly two). Duties could include helping to transport food/ingredients/drinks from IFM to the venue. Arrive around 2-4 hours ahead of the event to start prepping and cooking the meals. We will also provide meals to the volunteers and so if a venue had seats for 30 guests and had 10 volunteers, then we’d want to plan for 40 meals. Kitchen clean up. This is basically like the “back of the house” for a restaurant.
2. Serving Team: Each serving team will have a captain/lead volunteer (or possibly two). Duties could include set up, serving meals/drinks, welcoming guests, hosting a short “program/presentation,” and clean up. Arrive around 1 hour ahead of the event to start setting up. Welcome guests and complete a quick check in process confirming name and reservation. Seat guests, serve meals and drinks. Clean up. This is basically like the “front of the house” for a restaurant.

Process Steps
Step 1: Get the word out so that interested people/orgs/clubs can respond through the online form below.
Step 2: IFM will review all responses and follow up both individually and via group emails. Finalize venues, dates, times, and # of meals/guests/volunteers at each venue.
Step 3: IFM will create Sign Up Genius links for each venue and will share via group email. That will handle the venues and the workforce.
Step 4: Based on # of guest seats at each venue, IFM will create Reservation posts and will outreach to IFM clients coming in for food to encourage them to sign up for an Easter meal.
Step 5: Based on # of guests signing up, IFM will prepare and provide food for each venue.
Step 6: Host the event! Food gets transported from IFM to the venue, gets cooked, served, enjoyed, and cleaned up. By hosting a short “program/presentation,” we mean have someone (could be an IFM staff person or Board Member or one of the lead volunteers at that venue) say a few words of thanks to everyone who made it all happen, thanks to the guests for being there, and say a few words about IFM. We can provide more guidance and suggestions on this. This can be done before, during, or after the meal …. Whatever the “host” volunteers choose.
Step 7: Debrief meeting and thank you lunch to be held in May or June at IFM for all involved from each venue. Who knows? If this is a smashing success, then perhaps we explore doing it again in the Fall … … ?!?
